Inflammation Protocol

A 2-month course of a pro-resolving mediator, better known as SPM's, is recommended by experts in the field to "resolve" any on-going inflammatory processes. Long-term, of course, seeking out and treating the source(s) of the inflammation-- gut, mouth, sinus cavity, food additives, gluten, dairy, environment-- is the wisest approach.
Mark Hyman "Healthy Aging" Shake

18 more items in Mark Hyman "Healthy Aging" ShakeDr. Hyman prefers whey protein from goats (Mt. Capra or Naked Goat, not yet available here), if you are going the animal protein route, and Mitopure powder (we've posted Pure's Renual capsules, which would need to be opened and their contents mixed into shake), his own "Gut Food" brand prebiotic-probiotic-polyphenol powder (although there are many good options). Optional add-on's are Navitas matcha green tea powder, Lakewood's pomegranate + cranberry powder, and 1 packet or scoop of Athletic Greens. Options for all but the matcha green tea powder are included here.

Neurological Health – Sleep Support

9 more items in Neurological Health – Sleep SupportL-theanine, generally starting at 200 mg, is said to help with "mind chatter," although I have just started experimenting with it. For sleep support, I like to look at the in-obvious places. Anyone and everyone seems to coach about sleep hygiene, electronic device use, cool rooms and even blue light blocking glasses. Give me a break. We can do better than that! To sleep well you need to eat well. Think plant heavy Paleo with abundant sea creatures mixed in a couple times a week. I am a big fan of minerals, since very few of us get what we need through diet alone (unless we are lucky enough to have our own organic vegetable gardens & live near an ocean): especially magnesium + potassium-- and zinc (even more so for folks with chronic viral infections, and aging men)-- but also some of the minerals considered "trace," chief among them iodine, boron, manganese, lithium. I generally discourage folks from taking calcium supplements unless it's a top, top grade source and taken together with vitamin K2 and magnesium. Most calcium supplements end up lining your blood vessels (and calcifying other tissues); not exactly the desired effect... Probiotics, whether via fermented foods or capsules, also seem to help although some species/strains have more research behind them than others. Reuteri, helveticus, longum, possibly also rhamnosus & plantarum would likely be among the top species to focus on for so-called gut-brain or " psychobiotic " effects. Folks that find themselves incorrigibly fidgety or absolutely incapable of turning off mind chatter might want to look into gut health; that is to say, bacterial and/or fungal overgrowths (most definitively diagnosed via Organic Acids (urine) Test or stool tests like GI-Map and GI Effects can also be guesstimated through constellation of symptoms & health history). I like Biocidin ( liquid ) and raw garlic consumption (1 clove daily) for this, but there are many, many respectable treatment avenues. Finally, people plagued by 3 a.m. waking are often actually experiencing blood glucose crashes that wake them up. (The body releases a burst of cortisol to free up glucose, and that turns on your catecholamines. Cue racing mind & panicky thoughts.) Getting more fat in the evening meal (and surprise, fewer simple carbs-- including alcohol, especially during those last few hours before bed) usually does the trick. Longer term you will want to work towards greater "metabolic flexibility," but chronic stress can work against this, so that too might need to be addressed. In the meantime, a tiny dose of Dhea-- 5-10 mg-- at bedtime seems to support deep "delta" sleep.
Long Haul Covid Protocol (minus Microb-Manager & CBD products) - per Quicksilver Scientific

5 more items in Long Haul Covid Protocol (minus Microb-Manager & CBD products) - per Quicksilver ScientificI hesitate to share a "boilerplate" type protocol, especially for something as variable (and still poorly understood) as long Covid: we try to "treat the person," not the "disease" a person has been labeled or presents with. That said, because Chris Shade's approach ticks just about all the boxes (only the probiotic/prebiotic piece is missing) of what I see 98% of the adult US population needing help with, his approach seemed worth sharing more widely. Fullscript does not seem to carry his Micro-Manager nor, no surprise here, his CBD products-- although our Doctors Supplement Store site appears to: www.dssorders.com/RootResolutionRegistration (code: MB1549). The BioMatrix product is the closest I could come to approximating Quicksilver's Micro-Manager (artemisinin, andrographis, berberine, curcumin, boswellia, (broad spectrum) hemp, milk thistle, quercetin, propolis, cinnamon & mint), but it is arguably a poor stand-in. If you know of or find something closer, please let me know. Or go to DSS.
