    Maintaining healthy cholesterol and supporting optimal lipid metabolism requires a comprehensive approach targeting lipid excretion, lipid transport, cellular methylation, and vascular inflammation. The combination of psyllium husk, omega-3 fatty acids, a B-complex, and choline targets these mechanisms in a complementary manner. 1. Psyllium Husk (Soluble Fiber) Mechanism: Psyllium is a water-soluble, gel-forming viscous fiber. It binds to bile acids in the intestinal lumen, promoting their excretion in feces. To replenish the bile acid pool, the liver upregulates LDL receptors to extract circulating cholesterol, resulting in a reduction in total cholesterol and LDL-C 2. Omega-3 Fatty Acids (EPA/DHA) Mechanism: Long-chain omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) modulate lipid levels by reducing hepatic triglyceride synthesis, decreasing VLDL secretion, and accelerating triglyceride clearance. They also promote anti-inflammatory pathways by replacing inflammatory fatty acids in cell membranes and acting as precursors to specialized pro-resolving mediators 3. Active B-Complex Mechanism: B-vitamins serve as essential cofactors in cellular energy and methylation processes B Vitamins . Specifically, vitamins B6, B9 (folate), and B12 are critical cofactors for the conversion of homocysteine to methionine. Managing homocysteine is essential because elevated levels promote vascular inflammation and endothelial damage, accelerating atherogenesis. Additionally, niacin (vitamin B3) plays a historical clinical role in lipid management by helping to lower circulating LDL-C and support HDL-C levels when used at targeted doses 4. Choline / Phosphatidylcholine Mechanism: Choline is an essential nutrient required for the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine, a key structural component of cellular and lipoprotein membranes Choline . Adequate choline is vital for the liver to assemble and secrete VLDL; without it, fat and cholesterol accumulate in hepatocytes (steatosis), impairing systemic lipid regulation.
