    Gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach lining. This can occur with the overconsuption of alcohol, chronic stress and regular use of NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). Symptoms of gastritis include nausea, vomiting, sense of fullness in upper abdomen and a gnawing or burning pain in the stomach that may improve with eating. It is always important to rule out H. pylori infection with persistent gastritis symptoms. H. pylori is a bacterial infection that can occur in the stomach. As you can imagine, H. pylori is fairly hearty in that it can survive the very acidic environment of the stomach. If gastritis symptoms are related to the presence of H. pylori, specific treatment will need to be implemented to erradicate this bacteria. Using the following protocol to address the symptoms of gastritis is appropriate with or without H. pylori.

    Greetings Seekers of Health and Vitality, The following protocol has been developed to support the mitochondria and its energy-producing mechanisms. You may recall from high school biology that the mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell because they make the energy that each cell needs to function. Each cell contains 1000's of mitochondria and they can take up as much as 25% of cellular volume - that's how important they are. In addition to converting food into chemical energy, mitochondria regulate the immune system, calcium balance, and the aging process. Mitochondria can be especially susceptible to environmental toxins, oxidative stress and nutrient deficiencies. When mitochondria do not function well, we cannot produce enough energy to make things go at the cellular level and beyond. What happens in the cells, happens in the tissues, happens in the organs, and happens throughout the entire body. If you have addressed diet, sleep, and lifestyle and normalized adrenal function but still feel like your energy is not where it should be despite all of the healthy things you are doing, consider adding in some mitochindrial support.     Constipation can be a temporary annoyance or a chronic and debilitating condition. Short term constipation can be caused by stress, travel, dehydration, lack of exercise, GI infections or lack of fiber in the diet and can be remedied with some simple adjustments and perhaps some supplemental suport to get things moving until bowel function is back on track. Chronic constipation may be due to structural or functional issues within the GI tract or due to long-standing infections, bacterial overgrowth, poor bile flow and digestive enzyme production, and low levels of healthy bacteria that support the microbiome and feed the cells of the intestinal tract. Stool testing is always a good place to start to rule in/out infections, bacterial imbalances and measure functional and inflammatory markers. If constipation comes on suddenly and there is noticeable blood in the stool, consulting with your primary care doctor or a gastroenterologist may be warranted. Colonoscopy can rule out inflammatory bowel disease, colitis, diverticulosis, polyps and colon cancer. Below is a list of basic support to address acute or chronic constipation. It is important to get things moving so that the body can eliminate and detoxify regularly and efficiently. Stool testing is recommended as a general screening tool to identify potential causes of constipation.     Periodontal disease is a fairly common and preventable disorder. Increased bacteria in the mouth and gums can contribute to gum inflammation and bone loss that can ultimately lead to loss of teeth. Regular teeth cleaning with a good dental hygenist can help to remove excess plaque and provide a deep cleaning for the gumline around our teeth, but in addition to regular brushing, flossing and the use of a water pick, we can also use some antimicrobial toothpaste and liposomal complex from BioBotanical Research. Both products contain Biocidin which has proven to be a highly effective botanical formula for bacterial overgrowth in the gut. When it comes to oral care, plaque (a biofilm) is a universal challenge. Dentalcidin has a strong track record in removing biofilms while gently and effectively cleaning and whitening teeth while supporting healthy oral microbial balance. Essential oils support fresh breath. In pilot research by Binghamton University, Biocidin® was shown to significantly reduce the viability of germs associated with biofilm (plaque) production. Dentalcidin LS oral rinse contains a liposomal solution for deeper activity in the periodontal area, and is the perfect complement to Dentalcidin toothpaste. Dentalcidin LS can be addedto coconut oil for oil pulling or added to the water for oral irrigation with a Waterpik or some kind of water flosser.
