WHO THIS IS FOR Every Welmivia patient receives this protocol. These are the five nutrients most critical to brain health, mood regulation, and medication effectiveness — and the five most commonly deficient in adults, particularly those with psychiatric conditions. Think of this as your foundation: everything else builds on it. HOW IT WORKS Omega-3 fatty acids reduce neuroinflammation and support the serotonin and dopamine systems your medications target. Vitamin D3 is essential for serotonin synthesis — deficiency is found in over 40% of psychiatric patients and directly impairs antidepressant response. Magnesium glycinate calms the NMDA receptor system, regulates your stress response, and is depleted by stress itself and by many medications. Methylated B vitamins ensure your brain can actually produce serotonin and dopamine — especially important if you have an MTHFR gene variant. Zinc supports dopamine synthesis and is essential for how your brain responds to stimulants and antidepressants. Please Note: Additional formulations and brands of each supplement listed below are available in the Welmivia storefront. Products featured here were selected based on evidence quality, standardization, and formulation — including bioavailability of form, absence of unnecessary fillers, and third-party testing. Substitutions within the same supplement category are available for patients with dietary restrictions, cost considerations, or brand preferences.

WHO THIS IS FOR For patients actively taking SSRIs, SNRIs, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, or stimulants. Psychiatric medications are highly effective — but many deplete key nutrients your brain needs. This protocol restores those depletions to improve how well your medication works and reduce side effects. HOW IT WORKS These nutrients are the raw materials your brain needs to respond to your medications. SSRIs deplete vitamin B6 , which your brain needs to make serotonin. Medications like metformin deplete vitamin B12 which already is a common deficiency. Antipsychotics and statins deplete CoQ10 , which your cells use for energy. L-methylfolate directly supports serotonin and dopamine synthesis and has Level B clinical evidence for improving SSRI response — particularly important if you have an MTHFR gene variant. Please Note: Additional formulations and brands of each supplement listed above are available in the Welmivia storefront. Products featured here were selected based on evidence quality, standardization, and formulation — including bioavailability of form, absence of unnecessary fillers, and third-party testing. WHO THIS IS FOR For patients with confirmed ADHD on stimulant or non-stimulant medication, and patients with ADHD-adjacent cognitive complaints such as executive function difficulties, working memory gaps, or poor stimulant response. These supplements don't replace your ADHD medication but rather they provide the nutritional foundation your brain needs to respond to it optimally. HOW IT WORKS Zinc is a direct cofactor in dopamine synthesis with Level B evidence as an ADHD adjunct — deficiency can reduce how well stimulants work. Omega-3 fatty acids (particularly EPA) have the strongest supplement evidence base for ADHD attention and hyperactivity. Magnesium glycinate reduces the sleep disruption that stimulants commonly cause. Phosphatidylserine supports working memory and cortisol modulation. L-theanine smooths the edges of stimulant therapy — reducing jitteriness without blunting the therapeutic effect. Please Note: Additional formulations and brands of each supplement listed above are available in the Welmivia storefront. Products featured here were selected based on evidence quality, standardization, and formulation — including bioavailability of form, absence of unnecessary fillers, and third-party testing. WHO THIS IS FOR For patients with difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or achieving restorative sleep — whether from anxiety, a racing mind, stimulant use, stress, or circadian rhythm disruption. Designed as a non-pharmacological adjunct to good sleep habits and, where applicable, to work alongside prescription sleep support. You may not need every supplement — your Welmivia provider will guide you. HOW IT WORKS These supplements work through three distinct mechanisms. Melatonin at a low physiological dose (0.5–1mg) acts as a circadian signal — telling your brain it's time to prepare for sleep. Higher doses (5–10mg) sold at pharmacies are supraphysiologic and cause grogginess without better sleep. Magnesium activates GABA receptors, improving sleep architecture. L-theanine promotes alpha brain wave activity, reducing cognitive hyperarousal. Ashwagandha reduces evening cortisol — one of the most common physiological causes of difficulty falling asleep. Glycine lowers your core body temperature, a critical signal for sleep onset. Please Note: Additional formulations and brands of each supplement listed above are available in the Welmivia storefront. Products featured here were selected based on evidence quality, standardization, and formulation — including bioavailability of form, absence of unnecessary fillers, and third-party testing. WHO THIS IS FOR For patients managing anxiety, GAD, chronic stress, or high physiological stress load — whether or not they are also on prescription anti-anxiety medication. Also appropriate for optimization patients who want to improve stress resilience and reduce the physical toll of a high-demand lifestyle. These supplements provide meaningful adjunct support but do not replace SSRI or SNRI therapy for clinical anxiety disorders. HOW IT WORKS Anxiety has two components: the psychological experience and the physiological stress response. These supplements target the physiological side by reducing cortisol, modulating the HPA axis, and supporting neurotransmitter systems involved in anxiety regulation. Ashwagandha KSM-66 has multiple RCTs showing cortisol reduction and GAD symptom improvement. GABA is your brain's primary inhibitory neurotransmitter — it slows neural firing, reducing the overactivation that drives anxiety symptoms like racing thoughts, hyperarousal, and physical tension. L-theanine promotes alpha brain wave activity associated with calm alertness and can be taken as needed prior to stressful events. Magnesium modulates the NMDA receptor — the same target as some prescription anxiolytics. Saffron extract (Affron) has RCT evidence for anxiety through serotonin-adjacent mechanisms. Phosphatidylserine blunts the cortisol spike in response to acute stress. Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA+DHA) work to reduce neuroinflammation which is anxiety-perpetuating. Clinical trial evidence for anxiety reduction. Please Note: Additional formulations and brands of each supplement listed above are available in the Welmivia storefront. Products featured here were selected based on evidence quality, standardization, and formulation — including bioavailability of form, absence of unnecessary fillers, and third-party testing. WHO THIS IS FOR Standard of care for all Welmivia patients initiating or currently on GLP-1 therapy (semaglutide, tirzepatide, or similar medications). GLP-1 medications work partly by dramatically reducing how much you eat — creating predictable nutritional depletions that impair mood, cognitive function, muscle mass, and long-term metabolic health. This protocol should not be viewed as optional. It is how we protect your results and your long-term health. HOW IT WORKS When you eat significantly less, you take in less of every nutrient. The most affected are B vitamins, zinc, magnesium, and vitamin D . Hair loss seen with GLP-1 medications is most often driven by zinc deficiency — not the medication itself. The most critical variable for long-term GLP-1 success is protein intake: insufficient protein causes muscle loss alongside fat, reversing your metabolic improvements. Whey and plant based options are available to choose from. Berberine provides an insulin-sensitizing bridge that maintains metabolic health during dose adjustments or discontinuation. Please Note: Both whey and plant-based protein options are available. Select based on dietary preference, tolerance, and GI response. Not all options are required — choose one that supports consistent daily protein intake. Whey isolate is preferred for leucine content and muscle protein synthesis; plant-based blends (pea + rice) are a clinically appropriate alternative. Additional formulations and brands of each supplement listed above are available in the Welmivia storefront. Products featured here were selected based on evidence quality, standardization, and formulation — including bioavailability of form, absence of unnecessary fillers, and third-party testing. 10 more items in Protocol 6: Cognitive Optimization

WHO THIS IS FOR For high-performing adults seeking to sharpen cognitive function, protect brain health long-term, and support peak mental performance. Appropriate for optimization patients without a clinical diagnosis, patients recovering from burnout or cognitive overload, patients with ADHD on stimulants seeking additional support, and patients with subjective brain fog not explained by a psychiatric condition. This is not a treatment for ADHD and does not replace psychiatric evaluation. HOW IT WORKS These supplements target the biological foundations of cognitive performance: neuroinflammation reduction, brain energy metabolism, nerve growth factor stimulation, cortisol modulation, and cell membrane integrity. Magnesium threonate is the only form that crosses the blood-brain barrier at meaningful concentrations, directly increasing synaptic density — the structural basis of memory and learning. Lion's mane stimulates nerve growth factor (NGF) production, supporting neurogenesis. Creatine replenishes phosphocreatine that your brain uses for energy during demanding cognitive tasks. Bacopa has the strongest evidence of any supplement for memory consolidation — but requires 8–12 weeks of consistent use. Please note: Multiple creatine formulations available. Not all are required — select based on preference and tolerance. Options vary by form (monohydrate, micronized) and flavor. All provide equivalent creatine content at listed doses. Additional formulations and brands of each supplement listed above are available in the Welmivia storefront. Products featured here were selected based on evidence quality, standardization, and formulation — including bioavailability of form, absence of unnecessary fillers, and third-party testing. Substitutions within the same supplement category are available for patients with dietary restrictions, cost considerations, or brand preferences.
