Heart Health & Cholesterol

Assess and understand your cardiovascular risk.

  • Cardiac Health Package

This package combines five tests to assess cardiovascular risk and related aspects of your metabolic and kidney health. The lipid panel measures cholesterol and triglycerides, while the apolipoprotein evaluation provides additional insight into cholesterol-carrying particles and inherited risk through Lp(a). The comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP) checks blood sugar, electrolytes, and markers of kidney and liver health. High-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) measures inflammation that may help refine cardiovascular risk assessment. A urinalysis checks for findings such as protein, blood, or glucose in your urine. Together, these results can help guide a personalized prevention plan.

  • Lipid Panel

This panel measures cholesterol and triglycerides, fats in your blood that help assess your risk for heart disease and stroke. It includes total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, and triglycerides. LDL is often called “bad” cholesterol because elevated levels can contribute to plaque buildup in arteries. HDL helps carry cholesterol back to the liver, while triglycerides are a type of fat your body uses for energy. Testing can help identify cholesterol abnormalities and monitor your response to lifestyle changes or treatment.

  • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel

The Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) measures 14 substances in your blood to provide a broad picture of your body’s chemical balance and kidney and liver health. It checks glucose (blood sugar), electrolytes that help regulate fluid and acid-base balance, calcium, and proteins such as albumin. It also measures creatinine and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) to help assess kidney function, along with liver enzymes and bilirubin to look for signs of liver or bile duct problems. Testing can help investigate symptoms, monitor certain medications, and follow existing health conditions.

  • Apolipoprotein Evaluation

This panel measures apolipoprotein A1 (ApoA1), apolipoprotein B (ApoB), and lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a), to provide additional insight into your risk for heart disease and stroke. ApoA1 is the main protein in HDL, which helps transport cholesterol back to the liver. ApoB helps estimate the number of cholesterol-carrying particles that can contribute to plaque buildup in arteries. Lp(a) is a largely inherited cholesterol-carrying particle associated with increased cardiovascular risk when elevated. These markers may reveal risk that is not fully reflected in a standard lipid panel. This panel helps assess risk but does not diagnose existing artery blockages or heart disease.

  • C-Reactive Protein, High Sensitivity (CRP, HS)

This test measures small amounts of C-reactive protein (CRP), a protein your liver produces in response to inflammation. The high-sensitivity CRP (hs-CRP) test can provide additional information about your risk for heart disease when considered alongside cholesterol levels and other cardiovascular risk factors. Elevated results may reflect low-grade inflammation, but they can also occur with infections, injuries, or other inflammatory conditions. This test does not identify the source of inflammation or diagnose heart disease.

  • Urinalysis, No Reflex

A urinalysis examines your urine for clues about your urinary tract, kidney health, and certain metabolic conditions. It checks characteristics such as urine concentration and acidity and looks for substances such as protein, blood, glucose, and ketones. Depending on the testing included, it may also assess cells, bacteria, and crystals under a microscope. Results can help investigate symptoms such as painful urination, frequent urination, or changes in urine appearance. Abnormal findings may suggest a urinary tract infection, kidney problems, or blood sugar concerns, but additional testing may be needed to identify the cause. A urinalysis alone does not diagnose diabetes or confirm every urinary tract infection.
